How do I configure AGD650 detection zones?

Purpose

Detection zones define the areas monitored by the detector and determine when output relays activate.

Best Practice

Zone Placement

• Place zones in the centre of each lane.
• Ensure green direction arrows match traffic flow.
• Keep arrows parallel with lane markings.
• Leave a gap between adjacent lanes to prevent cross-lane detection.

Field of View

The detector should be able to see:

• One full vehicle length before the zone.
• One full vehicle length after the zone.

Detection Class Options

Detect all road users

• Vehicles
• Motorcycles
• Cyclists
• E-scooters
• Pedestrians

Detect 4-wheeled vehicles only

• Cars
• Vans
• Trucks
• Buses

Do not detect 4-wheeled vehicles

• Cyclists
• Motorcycles
• E-scooters
• Pedestrians only

Custom

• User-selectable classifications such as buses only.

Important Note

If no detection zones are configured:

• Red LED remains on.
• Both outputs remain in detect state.
