How do I install an AGD646 detector?

Overview

The AGD646 AI Pedestrian and VRU Detector is designed for kerbside pedestrian and cyclist detection at signalised crossings. Correct positioning is critical to achieving reliable detection performance.


Step 1 – Mount the Detector

Install the detector on the signal pole using the supplied mounting hardware.

Recommended mounting height:

Nominal height 3.5–4m
Maximum height 5m

Step 2 – Align the Detector

Start with approximately a 45° downward viewing angle.

Step 3 – Verify Field of View

Ensure the detector can see:

✓ Entire waiting area

✓ Area directly in front of the nearside pole

✓ Pedestrians approaching the crossing

Avoid:

✗ Signal backing boards

✗ Tree branches

✗ Moving foliage

✗ Street furniture obstructing the view
