How do I return an AGD product?
This article explains the AGD Systems product returns process, including warranty returns, faulty products, and returns of unwanted or incorrectly ordered items.
Warranty Returns (Faulty Products)
AGD Systems warrants that its products will:
- Conform to their description and any agreed specification.
- Be free from material defects in design, materials, and workmanship.
- Be fit for any purpose specifically stated by AGD.
The applicable warranty period for each product range is defined in the relevant product manual.
Reporting a Fault
If a product is believed to be faulty, the customer must:
- Notify AGD in writing.
- Report apparent defects within 48 hours of delivery.
- Report non-obvious defects within a reasonable time of discovery during the warranty period.
- Provide sufficient information about the issue, including:
- Product type
- Product serial number
- Detailed description of the suspected fault
Returning a Product Under Warranty
Where requested by AGD, customers must return the product to AGD's premises at their own cost.
AGD must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the product before any warranty claim can be assessed.
Warranty Resolution
If AGD determines that the product is defective and covered by warranty, AGD may, at its discretion:
- Repair the product;
- Replace the product; or
- Refund the purchase price of the defective product.
Where AGD repairs a product under warranty, the repaired product will be returned to the customer at AGD's expense, together with supporting documentation.
Any repaired or replaced components are covered by a one-year warranty from the date they are returned to the customer.
Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not apply where:
- The product continues to be used after a defect has been reported.
- AGD installation, commissioning, storage, maintenance, or operating instructions have not been followed.
- The defect results from customer-supplied designs or specifications.
- The product has been altered or repaired without AGD's written approval.
- The defect results from normal wear and tear.
- The defect results from wilful damage, negligence, abnormal storage, or abnormal operating conditions.
- Payment for the product has not been made in full.
- Changes required to meet statutory or regulatory requirements have caused differences from the original specification.
Products or components not manufactured by AGD are covered only by any warranty provided by the original manufacturer.
Unwanted or Incorrectly Ordered Products
AGD may, at its sole discretion, accept returns of products that are:
- Unwanted; or
- Ordered incorrectly by the customer.
Such returns must be requested within 10 days of delivery.
Acceptance of these returns is not guaranteed and remains entirely at AGD's discretion.
Restocking Charges
Accepted returns of unwanted or incorrectly ordered products may be subject to a minimum restocking charge of 25% of the original invoice value.
Additional handling or reprocessing charges may apply where necessary.
Return Condition Requirements
To be eligible for return, products must:
- Be returned in their original condition.
- Be returned in their original packaging.
- Be suitable for immediate resale upon receipt by AGD.
If returned products do not meet these requirements, AGD may:
- Refuse the return and send the products back at the customer's expense; or
- Apply a handling or reprocessing charge based on the actual costs incurred.
Return Process
Before returning any product, customers should contact AGD Systems to obtain return instructions and provide:
- Customer details
- Product description
- Product serial number (where applicable)
- Reason for return
- Detailed fault description (for warranty claims)
Products should not be returned without prior agreement from AGD.
